I went inside the Alternate Reality Comics store across the street from UNLV for the first time today to be adventurous. It was much more pleasant than I expected, and I got to meet the owner who was really chill. He helped me look for Avengers comics, but he was all out in the origins one I wanted so I decided to get a few issues of A vs. X. Apparently there is a free comic book day on Saturday, but unfortunately I have work then an exam. I will see if I can request off...and it would also give me more time to study. I also wouldn't mind wearing my Quicksilver costume somewhere other than the Avengers premiere, and I get an extra comic! Seeing other people in costume sounds like an interesting experience too.

I still have never worn my new jacket around in public, and I feel like it is my new favorite one to wear when I wear it. I attached the new pin I got today to make it even more swag, and bring out my nerdy side for the "Hunger Games." The project with the Magneto helmet is still a work in progress, and nobody ever gets it right the first time. I had no idea that papier-mâché was such a down and dirty job, but nonetheless was an interesting experience.
Today was very interesting. I come to work, and sit on stand only to be panicked by a customer freaking out about an infestation of bees behind me. My co-workers on the other stands could not figure out my sign language of "there is a swarm of bees, and they are not dust particles floating around." Besides having such a beesy day, I tried to rush ordering a box of colored contacts but was told I had to wait Monday...Somehow I convinced my dad to help me make a Shaw and Magneto helmet out of papier-mâché. The work was so much struggle, and I am pretty sure we messed up the whole thing. On the other hand, it was fun spending quality time with my father. The helmet we started on is gonna weigh a ton, because we used way too much papier-mâché. There is Kona! Dog practically saved my life from a snake. He's so FLUFFY!
Today was probably the most excited I have ever felt in a long while, and it also takes place at work. It was the shift bids today, and now I am finally free from having to close the pool everyday. Not that I have any grudge with working with certain employees on certain times of the day...but yeah I am free! So after work, I had to run to my car in the heat to awkwardly change in my car and sprint back to make it to the meeting room in time. I never thought I would get such a loud, yet warm welcoming at work when I changed out of my uniform to clothes that are more comfortable. To be really honest, I ended up feeling really awkward and wanted to walk out of there. Then I saw my new friend from work around the corner of the room, and the bad feelings just went away. This friend of mine graciously invited me to a dinner I was unaware of with a bunch of our co-workers. I figured a lot of them would be drinking , and acting childish. (which they were...) Though it surprisingly turned out quite interesting with my friend who again made it feel less awkward. In fact, I actually enjoyed the night to say the least.
Not sure if there is a term for "lover of jackets" but I am so excited to wear this around. I don't think I will care that the sun is blazing until I am down on the ground with heat stroke. The name of my fly swatter is the "Rivers Edge". It sounds like a sword in a way, but it will come in handy some day...
I consider myself an audiophile, because I just love listening to music so much. My day seems just great listening to some chill tunes to block out the "loud noises"... If only I could listen to my music at work, the tunes played at work are okay and I get the usual "Coldplay" and "Foster the People" every now and then. It still does not satisfy my love and desire for more music! On a different note, I also love the cold and snow believe it or not. An interesting fact, Russia is the coldest country in the world. The mid-annual temperature is −5.5°C (22°F) which for sure I get to conveniently wear all the warm clothing and jackets I want. Las Vegas is so harsh sometimes, almost makes it so unbearable to want to wear a jacket during the day. Russia is such a great place to train as well. The place is so quiet and secluded in a lot of areas that I feel makes it so peaceful. Who knows? I may even see Fedor Emelianenko who I still feel is the best fighter in the world even though he is not in his prime. I know without a doubt, chess is a national past time there, so bumping into someone at a park who wants to play would not be difficult at all. I guess I kind of don't mind associating myself as a Russophile because the nation and its people are so interesting to me. I also love the Philippines, and what I have learned from both countries is that the people have so much pride and honor for their country. I am blessed to have a Russian name, and a Filipino family. Speaking of Russian stuff, I love this dog tag so much. I pretty much wear it all day everyday because it brings me good fortune. Today, I had to complete a drug test for this airport job that also tested my vision, balance, and hearing. I thought it was so grueling holding it in, but when I finally was able to take the urine test I got so embarrassed. Lets just say I ended up overfilling the cup, and later asking the tester "Is it okay if I clean the toilet?" When I had to meet a physician, he checked my whole body, and became curious when he saw my dog tag. He said, "What country is that?" and I replied, "Russia" while he was hitting the lower section of my kneecaps to test my reflexes. He looked at me with an interested smirk, and I explained to him that I love just about everything Russian and my name's origin. I passed the tests, and he later told me,"Make sure to place me in the VIP section if you get the job." Since I am talking about everything Russia related, I am pretty sure a few of my co-workers now think I am creepy ever since I told them I thought a certain co-worker had "Russian eyes".
This package came with the usual ching chong language I don't understand, but it does not matter because I just want to open it. My dog does not leave me alone so when I set the package on my bed, she started laying her head all over it... I actually hate taking these sort of "myspace" type pictures, fortunately I don't take them in the bathroom by a toilet... My electric insect swatter finally came in the mail, but now the insects that were bugging me are nowhere to be found...but I am ready for them!
