Absolutely chilling how the mood completely changes in the middle of the song. Much like a children's story about escapism where the character comes to the realization of some dark truth during a logical assessment of a dangerous situation. Happy Birthday Maurice Sendak! Took a break from movies, and watching shows I still need to catch up on like Firefly. Reverting back to my anime watching mood was a very rewarding experience with this treat of a story. I am now completely obsessed with Deadman Wonderland after watching a complete marathon viewing, that I have decided to really dissect the story, characters, and just about every fun element I felt inspiring. This story is all sorts of crazy with a little bit of Battle Royale.
Besides me lounging comfortably at home with my "give up on life pants", started reading a few stories in this new book I got. Oh boy! The illustrations and many biographical essays which accompany the stories are delightfully delicious. One story I have to rant about is the Little Red Riding Hood story since it deals with "rape". There are many versions of this story which all are pretty violent. One involves Little Red Riding Hood getting eaten, then a woodsman cuts the wolf open. Another version just leaves Little Red Riding Hood dead, and THE END! But a really weird one is when Little Red Riding Hood eats her grandmother, and does a striptease performance for the wolf. The moral of this story is all practically the same, you can prevent rape by stripping... So when you are in front of a serial killer who has murdered your grandmother and tricked you into eating her remains, just take off all your clothes as to make him a happy camper.
Neil Gaiman's story with a wonderful friend is heartfelt, and very inspirational in not taking for granted the love for man's best friend. Full Story: The Power of the Dog Yes, the video is not about the dog. Although, it contains some beautiful shots of Cabal, Neil Gaiman explains an art project he is working on.
Neil Gaiman's Blog With just about everyone, people wear masks. The book portrays Michael Eisner and affiliates taking costly risks for profit that jeopardize the family entertainment value it use to be known for. It is sad when people become corrupt and unethical when they enter a business that use to be regarded highly for entertaining the generation's youth. Now what we are left with is the image of a playful mouse turned to a scornful backstabbing rat. Eisner would have lost millions of profit if he were to go with his original plan of letting go of the Animation Studio. He personally admitted he prefers live action over the long tedious expensive animation. Eisner only took interest in animation because he saw the profit it was generating so we see first hand more to come of this corrupted individual's desire. Evil greedy businessman take advantage of the Disney name, and do not deny the fact that they can make shitty films and people will still watch because of the label on it. Disney from this point try to make a duality for their target audience of the film being appropriate for kids but have hidden messages that keep adults entertained. Back in the 1980's a man by the name of Harlan Ellison was let go for joking about the creation of a pornographic film about Disney. Now it is not far from the truth, Disney partnered with "Viewer's Choice" who is a leader in the pay-per-view soft-core pornography to make dirty paper. They also have no concern for customer safety or employee safety at Disney World and would rather deal with lawsuits over shutting down rides because they would lose more money. The only crime that matters to the Disney Corporation are economic crimes like shoplifting as little as a ninety-five cent pen. When it comes to domestic violence, a kid getting his leg bit by an alligator, or people horrifyingly shredded by propellers from a boat in a water ride...THEY JUST DON'T CARE! They will deny any of these as unseen terrors until they can dish out the evidence like pulling the tooth of the alligator out of the kid's leg. They go as far as to send six divers to tamper with evidence from corpses underwater. It feels like Disney are not only money mongers, but they act as bad as the Mafia. There is also a pedophile problem in Disney with workers like Christopher Laber who solicits young children on the internet using his connection with Disney to his advantage. Thankfully, detectives pulled a Chris Hansen's "To Catch A Predator" on this sick child molester. It is sad to say that Laber won an Emmy award for the "Winnie the Pooh" movie, but was caught with child pornography on his hard drive. Peeping toms, nude exposure, and public masturbation all go unreported at Disney World. When I read about the "sphincter view", not gonna lie...I felt sickened by humanity. Disney management did not only tolerate these perverse action, but condoned it...New hire firefighters were mistreated and I can sympathize with them because when I lifeguard with my best friend, we are prone to sexual and verbal abuse everyday. I would say we are lucky that we watch over each other to make sure we do not fall victim/prey to any abuse. This reminds me of a story I read about a city named Sodom that was destroyed by God because the people who inhabited the area wanted to have sexual intercourse with the angels. These people were so sick, and it reminds me of a horror movie where they would just not stop and chase after these innocent people or in the story angels. I believe there is evil in the world, but also there is good. It all comes down to the choices an individual makes, because we all have the potential to determine our role or destiny in life. I know I use to feel like Pinocchio, because I was easily swayed by bad influences. I learned that no one deserves to be a puppet, even if you literally are a puppet but have a heart. I really enjoyed reading some of the testimonies, and evidence that this book includes and discusses. It is not just some rant, but a list of actual complaints that need to be brought out to the public so big business's like Wal-Mart, McDonalds, KFC, and Disney will be discouraged from making unethical decisions with their practices. I trust both sides until one side is proven to do wrong, because I am patient when it comes to justice. There is nothing worse than someone innocent getting reprimanded for the wrongs he did not commit. This is a gentle way to put up a representation of respecting Walt Disney as an authority figure. The book quotes "The company doesn't even allow Sheriff Officers to carry weapons on Disney property without the Mouse's permission." Disney controls what is heard by the public and law enforcement finds out about the crimes Disney wishes. The 911 system is run by Disney. The evidence, data, and witness reports reveal the shocking truth of a once highly respected company resorting to unethical business practices because of greedy CEO's. I highly recommend this read if you found any of this information interesting. I like bringing this old topic up every so often when I walk into a Disney Store. It just feels out of place staring at the Marvel Superheroes figurines that stand next to Dumbo and Snow White. Even with all this negative speculation, an idea to me to try new innovative crossovers and such still might start an interest we would never know. Kingdom Hearts was an idea that came out of the blue, and was not too bad. I just feel concerned for kids growing up and developing their minds properly to rid themselves of as much ignorance as possible. The main idea is to be able to think for yourself so you will be open-minded and people cannot manipulate you to being hateful, or taken advantaged of. Life is too complex to live having one perspective. |
