While I was driving home from work I noticed a truck advertising H & M with Lana Del Rey modeling the various clothing. I didn't bother to take a picture because I am a bad driver. Thought it was interesting because today on my lunch break I decided to listen to one of her songs in the computer room at the EDR. The video cheered me up with such exquisite images.... Lana Del Rey Video Link Advertisement seems a bit spooky to me, I don't know...
In the book Perks of Being a Wallflower, The main character Charlie is introduced to a couple songs by his friend Sam. She plays "Blackbird" by the Beatles along with "MLK" by U2 to calm him down and it ended up being songs he liked. Charlie is an honest young boy who always seems to be around bad influence. The book touches on various social issues (i.e. homosexuality, child abuse, rape, etc.) through the eyes of an innocent kid. The main character is called a "Wallflower" and is told, "You see things. You keep quiet. And you understand." The main character seems to share many traits I and a friend from work have in common. It seems countless of times that the little goody two shoes are taken advantaged of for their kindness. Derp... Gotta love songs about drugs like heroin. Speaking of David Bowie, I was wearing a shirt of him starring in the film Labyrinth just the other day. Marlon Brando gets mentioned in the song which makes me want to watch the Godfather. I am so jealous my brother, and a co-worker is going to the Las Vegas Comic Convention on Sept. 29 & 30. Simon Bisley, the artist for Batman/Judge Dredd: Judgement on Gotham will be there...sucks to be me... Today was interesting, my friends gave me the opportunity to learn from a personal trainer for boxing. (Very thankful!) While he was coaching me, I got so many compliments from him but his eyes looked so genuine. My friend was having so much difficulty learning the basics, but maybe fighting just comes natural for me. I know I am not very good at a lot of things, but I do know how to pay attention and listen. He said I was a very fast learner, and he had me move up to do more workouts like speed bag, heavy bag, double end bag, and Bob. (I love punching Bob!) I must say that it is more technical and difficult than it looks. After constant practice, I found my rhythm and felt less frustrated. Learning the science of boxing has really improved my striking. I finally have a proper stance to add to my collection! Although, I am a firm believer in flowing like water. |
